As the Regional Vice President for Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut and Western Ontario, Shawn MacDonald has responsibility for RBC’s Business Financial Services business across the market. Shawn is a leader of a diverse workforce which includes 300 team members supporting clients across all communities and industries in the Region. He is dedicated to creating an exceptional client experience for his clients and supporting the community.

Shawn joined RBC Royal Bank in 1995 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since that time has held a wide range of positions across Canadian Banking and RBC Bank (USA). Shawn has experience in the following areas; commercial & retail sales leadership; commercial & retail sales; client segment strategy development & execution; business line strategy development & execution; program management; and change management. RBC has taken Shawn and his family to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Ontario and Raleigh, North Carolina. Now he and the family are active members of the Winnipeg community.

Shawn has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance from Saint Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dalhousie University. He also has a Personal Financial Planner and a Specialist, Trust Institute designations; both from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Shawn lives in Winnipeg with his partner Tara and three children.
